About the Event
Join us for the Hook, Line & Ladder Fishing Day at Lake Ethel on June 14, 2026 from 8 AM – 2 PM, a community fishing event supporting those who answer the call. Sponsored by the Derry Area Revitalization Corporation, Friends of Derry, and the Derry Borough Municipal Authority, this event brings together anglers of all ages for a day of fishing, community, and friendly competition at beautiful Lake Ethel.
Participants will compete for awards based on the largest fish by length across several categories including Bass, Catfish, Carp, Perch, and Panfish. There are two competition classes: 15 and under and 16 and older, making this a great opportunity for families and young anglers to participate.
All individuals must register before fishing. Please download and complete the registration form and bring it with you to the event. You may also pay your registration fee using the payment link below for faster check-in on the day of the event.
Registration and entry stations will be available at three locations around the lake: • The school side of the walking path • Near the Merlin Funeral parking lot • At the rear of the lake near the flag pole
