    Derry America 250 Ethnic Food Festival

    June 20, 2026 • 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM

    East 3rd Street, Derry, Pennsylvania

    In 2026, the Borough of Derry will join communities across the nation in commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. As part of this historic milestone, Derry will host a brand-new event: the America 250 Ethnic Food Festival, celebrating the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and community spirit that define both Derry and the American experience.

    Set along East 3rd Street, an area colloquially known as “Goosetown,” the festival highlights a neighborhood shaped by generations of families from diverse backgrounds. This historic stretch of town serves as a fitting backdrop for a celebration focused on food, culture, and the shared stories that unite us.

    About the Festival

    The America 250 Ethnic Food Festival will showcase a wide variety of ethnic foods, cultural dishes, local specialties, and heritage-inspired menus. Visitors can enjoy:

    • A diverse selection of food vendors offering traditional and international cuisine
       
    • Craft and artisan vendors encouraged to feature culturally themed and Americana-inspired items
       
    • Historical presentations highlighting Derry’s unique heritage and the legacy of the East 3rd Street neighborhood
       
    • Live musical performances throughout the day
       
    • Family-friendly games, activities, and community booths
       

    Vendor Information

    Vendor spaces for this first-year event are designed to be accessible and affordable:

    • 10x10 space: $20
       
    • Additional 10x10 space: $10
       
    • Food trucks: $40 flat rate
       
    • Vendors must provide their own electric
       

    A total of 80 vendor spots are available and are expected to fill quickly.

    America 250 Parade (Ethnic Food Festival) – Details

    Parade Date & Time

    Saturday, June 20
    Parade Step-Off: 11:00 AM
    Lineup Begins: 9:00 AM

    Lineup / Staging Locations

    Lineup Location: DAYAA Parking Lots and Derry Community Pool Parking Lots
    Participant Drop-Off: E. 3rd Street in front of the Derry Community Pool (use this area to drop off walkers, kids, and participants before you stage).

    Parade Route

    The parade will start on E. 3rd Street and proceed:

    1. E. 3rd Street to McFarland St (toward 4th St / SR 217)
       
    2. West on 4th Street (SR 217)
       
    3. Continue on 4th Street (SR 217) as it transitions into E. Owens Ave
       
    4. Left turn onto N. Chestnut St
       
    5. Finish: E. 2nd St & N. Chestnut St
       

    Driver & Vehicle Requirements

    • All drivers of motorized vehicles must be 16 years of age or older and have a valid PA Driver’s License.
       
    • All participants must follow parade staff instructions and all applicable traffic/safety laws.
       
    • Vehicles must be operated safely at parade speed and remain attentive to walkers and spectators at all times.

    Live Music at the Friends of the Gem Theater Main Stage

    June 20, 2026 • Derry, Pennsylvania

    As part of Derry’s America 250 Ethnic Food Festival, the Friends of the Gem Theater Main Stage will feature a full lineup of live music, cultural performances, and high-energy entertainment throughout the day. Located on East Third Street in Derry, PA, this stage brings together local talent, regional favorites, and classic American genres that reflect the cultural diversity of our community.

    Mon Valley Push – Polka & Party Music

    Kick off the festival with the high-energy sound of Mon Valley Push, one of Western Pennsylvania’s most beloved polka party bands. Their upbeat accordion-driven music brings a joyful ethnic flavor that connects perfectly with the festival’s heritage theme.

    Free Shelter – Acoustic & Americana

    Enjoy the roots-inspired, organic sound of Free Shelter, a newly formed trio blending acoustic folk, Americana, and singer-songwriter influences. Their music fits naturally into the historic character of East 3rd Street, tying tradition to modern storytelling.

    Woodland Twang – Country & Bluegrass

    Closing out the evening, Woodland Twang brings a dynamic mix of country, bluegrass, and Appalachian-influenced string music. Their lively show is a perfect finale for a festival celebrating the spirit of the American experience.
